Ok I am a big Highlander fan, so I sat down and watch Highlander and highlander2 last night. I forgot what a fantastic film the first was, and then after watching the second film, I became disapointed with how rusbish the storey was, and the film itself was crap. The music in the films was by Queen, which in some truth does add that little bit of Magic
For those that have not seen the films here's a little guide
Highlander
Russell Mulcahy's original saga of immortal Scotsman Connor Macleod, one of a race of immortals who can only be killed when beheaded with a sword. After living in peace for four centuries, he is challenged by an old enemy named Kurgan. During a fierce sword battle in the 1500s, Connor MacLeod, a simple Scotsman known as a poor fighter, is mortally wounded -- but he does not die. MacLeod learns from the mysterious Ramirez that he is of a race of immortals. These rare knights never age and never reproduce, they can only meet death by the blade of another of their kind. Leaping back and forth through the centuries, MacLeod once again meets the evil Kurgan who nearly killed him 500 years ago.
Highlander 2 The Quickening
In this labyrinthine sequel, the Immortal MacLeod saves the people of Earth from immanent ozone layer-related destruction by building a shield that deflects sunlight. But the people of Earth aren't especially grateful, as the constant state of night has made them cranky and prone to criminal sprees. Moreover, bounty hunters from the Immortals' home planet, Zeist, have given chase, and it could mean curtains for us all unless MacLeod and an ecologist can liberate the Earth and banish the assassins. Available in Original, Director's Cut, and Renegade Versions
Highlander 3 the Sorcerer
The 'Highlander' saga continues, with Mario Van Peebles joining the action as a villain. Christopher Lambert reprises his role as Connor MacLeod, the ancient Scotsman. Van Peebles is Kane, an ancient fighter who seeks revenge for being imprisoned for 400 years.
Highlander 4 Endgame
The sword-wielding immortals are back--Connor MacLeod (Christopher Lambert) from HIGHLANDER and Duncan MacLeod (Adrian Paul) from television's HIGHLANDER series. In HIGHLANDER: ENDGAME, the two MacLeods do battle across time and space (from 15th century Scotland to present-day New York). Their foe is the evil, ultra-powerful Jacob Kell (Bruce Payne). Kell's immortal purpose is to make Connor's immortal life miserable--Kell was responsible for the death of Connor's mother and his wife, Heather. Kell is assisted by Kate (Lisa Barbuscia)--she seeks revenge on Duncan for giving her no choice about becoming an immortal.
Highlander 5 The Sorce
Brett Leonard directs this fantasy epic about an immortal man who must find reason to go on once his city and loved ones have been largely destroyed. After finding a group of fellow immortals, Duncan MacLeod begins on a quest to find the source of immortality itself.
Ok this films lacks Connor Macleod and brings to us from the seris Duncan Macleod, this film never made it on to the big screen, and will go straight to DVD, so I have preordered my copy, to see firstly if its anygood and secondly will this be the end of Highlander??

I found this revue of Highlander 2 on the Amazon website, by blain80
unfortunately this film really isn't any good. I spent several years barracking the film until I came across a nice surprise. Whilst whittling away the hours sat in my office, I came across a Highlander website. I noticed that Director Russell Mulchacy, along with the producers, had been given permission to 're-edit' this film. The result being 'Highlander 2 The Renegade Version'. Apparently the original idea for Highlander 2 was quite different from what was actually produced. The studio's did not like the script and several scenes were cut down, changed, or removed altogether, resulting in this 'Quickening' Version. I was fortunate enough to have been able to obtain the 'Renegade' version and no longer do I feel that this is a bad film. There is over 20 minutes of unseen footage, all reference to the planet Zeist has been removed, and what we now have is a film that does follow on nicely from the original. What the producers and director wanted, was a film that did follow on from the original, but also a film that could stand alone, so people who had not seen the original could still watch the film without having to have seen Highlander 1.Although this 'Quickening' version is poor, the 'Renegade' version is well worth checking out!
All in all I think he sum's up the film very well, now I am on the hunt for the 'Renegade' version of Highlander 2!
There can only be one...
